DelaneySecure releases its latest version of the FP-Lite SendKey module which enables biometric authentication single sign-on without any coding. Available as a server-side or client side solution for any Windows ideal for kiosks and enforcing complex passwords.

Using the award winning VeriFinger algorithm, FP-Lite SendKey module supports over 100+ fingerprint readers meaning organisations can re-use their existing fingerprint hardware, or use quality and affordable commercial grade scanners like SecuGen Hamster Pro 20 or Futronic FS80 or higher grade multispectral readers. FP-Lite also overcomes traditional fingerprint issues like rolling and rotation which many Fingerprint SDKs cannot accommodate.

Crossmatch acquires DigitalPersona in biometrics merger

Cross Match has acquired DigitalPersona and appointed a new CEO, Rich Agostinelli.

DigitalPersona has been in the commercial space and has focused primarily on retail, finance, health care and some government programs mostly in the civil space for voter registration and financial inclusion, whereas Cross Match focuses mostly on government enrollment programs.

What is biometrics? Understanding how biometrics works.

Biometric identifiers are the distinctive, measurable characteristics used to label and describe individuals. Biometric identifiers are often categorized as physiological versus behavioral characteristics. Physiological characteristics are related to the shape of the body. Examples include, but are not limited to fingerprint, face recognition, DNA, Palm print, hand geometry, iris recognition, retina and odour/scent.
